Melrose Little League Scholarship

Melrose Little League seeks to implant firmly in the children of Melrose the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, teamwork and respect for authority through wholesome and effective leadership in the disciplines of baseball so that they may be well
adjusted, stronger, happier children and those that will grow to be good, decent, healthy and trustworthy citizens.

In an effort to recognize those children who have been members of Melrose Little League and who have continued to demonstrate a commitment to our Melrose community, while advancing their education and the ideals of our League, Melrose Little League annually provides a one-time scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00, which will be awarded to two eligible and deserving student scholarship applicants. Scholarship funds must be applied toward future tuition (higher education and/or professional certification or licensing) and directly related fees and costs.

All qualified high school seniors are encouraged to submit an application.

APPLICATION CRITERIA and PROCESS

1. Eligible students must be: a) a past member of Melrose Little League (including Churchill
   American Little League and Melrose National Little League); b) a current resident of
   Melrose; and c) a senior attending high school and eligible for graduation in the year in
   which the application is submitted.
2. Each student applicant must complete and submit the attached Application Cover Page
   AND compose an essay of no less than one page describing his or her Little League
   experience and any lasting, positive influences(s) received including, but not limited to those
   that may continue to have a positive impact upon the applicant.
3. Student transcripts, resumes or letters of recommendations are NOT required however
   anything submitted in support of an application will be reviewed and considered.
4. Complete Application submissions (cover page, essay and any supporting materials) should
   be sent via email to Melrose Little League Secretary: secretary@melroselittleleague.org or sent
